True leaders innovate

TSM Business Schools offers learning programs that are designed to support people in the development of their leadership skills and entrepreneurial competences for innovation and sustainability purposes.

Dare to develop
Innovation and leadership are inextricably linked, but how do you bring those two together to develop? Innovation requires initiative and entrepreneurship: learning in practice. Leadership requires self-knowledge and learning: learning through reflection. These are the main principles which you will find in all our learning programs. TSM Business School provides a learning environment that emphasises the cultivation of personal responsibility, cooperation, open-mindedness, effectiveness, sustainability and humour.

Responsible Management Education

TSM untertakes under the Principles for Responsible Management Education of the United Nations.

Principle 1: Purpose
We will develop the capabilities of students to be future generators of sustainable value for business and society at large and to work for an inclusive and sustainable global economy.

Principle 2: Values
We will incorporate into our academic activities and curricula the values of global social responsibility as portrayed in international initiatives such as the United Nations Global Compact.

Principle 3: Method
We will create educational frameworks, materials, processes and environments that enable effective learning experiences for responsible leadership.

Principle 4: Research
We will engage in conceptual and empirical research that advances our understanding about the role, dynamics, and impact of corporations in the creation of sustainable social, environmental and economic value.

Principle 5: Partnership
We will interact with managers of business corporations to extend our knowledge of their challenges in meeting social and environmental responsibilities and to explore jointly effective approaches to meeting these challenges.

Principle 6: Dialogue
We will facilitate and support dialog and debate among educators, business, government, consumers, media, civil society organizations and other interested groups and stakeholders on critical issues related to global social responsibility and sustainability.

Vision

The TSM approach is characterised by five strongly interconnected elements.

Individual and Organisational Learning
The point of departure for our approach is identifying the achievable objectives of our customers. TSM helps customers to achieve a maximum added value by accurately mapping these objectives and translating them into a suitable programme design. Consequently, the optimum return on a programme is guaranteed for both individual and organisational learning.

Personal Development and Leadership
Personal development and leadership development are spearheads in the educational programmes of TSM Business School. We are the only business school in the Netherlands that effectively integrates business knowledge with management skills and attitude, aiming at personal development and leadership.

High-impact Learning
Practice creates impact. A session is not simply a theory-based lecture that might possibly find its way into practice. Continuous exchange and co-creation of actual knowledge and its application in the workplace generate direct learning needs. These are addressed in during and after each seminar.

Effective Learning Group
The creation of an effective learning group leads to breakthroughs in thinking and in discovering new applications in the participant’s professional environment.
Important elements are:
• Hard work with a strong orientation towards results
• An open learning atmosphere, where participants frequently exchange and co-create knowledge and experiences, and give feedback to one another
• An environment where humour and creativity are present.

Co-development
TSM considers the contribution of all players to be a crucial condition for effectively achieving the objectives of a programme, as well as the development objectives of the individual participants. TSM facilitates the interaction between participants, lecturers, trainers, alumni and TSM support staff in the process of co-development and life long learning.
